Upper & Lower Eyelid Rejuvenation
Each year thousands of women and men choose eyelid surgery for a more energetic and youthful appearance. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can correct sagging eyelids, remove fatty pouches beneath the eyes and remove excess skin from the upper eyelids.
Dr. Hopping performs eyelid surgery alone or with other facial procedures such as an S-Facelift, brow lift or skin resurfacing.
Your Consultation
During your initial cosmetic consultation, Dr. Hopping discusses your specific condition, your expectations, the procedure and the probable outcome of treatment. You may be shown several before and after treatment photographs of patients having a similar condition.
The Procedure
Dr. Hopping performs blepharoplasty in the comfort and convenience of THE Center for Cosmetic Surgery, an AAAHC-certified center. It is performed under local anesthesia or sedation anesthesia. The procedure takes between one and two hours, depending on the extent of the surgery. After eyelid cosmetic surgery, patients have a brighter, more relaxed and youthful appearance.
Recovery
The eye area may be bruised and swollen for about two weeks. Patients are instructed to keep their heads elevated and to place cold compresses on their eyes periodically. Patients are not able to wear contact lenses for two weeks. Camouflage makeup can be added at one week. The resulting thin scars, which follow the natural contour of your eyelids, fade in four to six weeks.
Expected Results
Your surgical outcome depends on the extent of the surgical correction, your skin structure and the healing process. Heredity, age and other physical characteristics also play a part in your outcome. Natural, rejuvenated results are the aesthetic goals for all eyelid procedures. The good news is that eyelid rejuvenation surgery enjoys long-lasting results. Most patients require eyelid rejuvenation surgery only once in a lifetime.
