Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are back! The new peels, or “nouveau peels,” as Dr. Hopping refers to them, are extremely effective in reducing smoker lines around the mouth, fine wrinkles, pigmentation, and even laxity.

The “Triple Peel” by Hopping, first created in Paris, combines three potent acids–glycolic, trichloroacetic, and carbolic–to dissolve and peel away old skin cells on the skin’s surface. “I love this nouveau peel and perform it daily, either as a single treatment or in combination with our surgical cases.

“This peel is great for the barcode lines around the lips, crepey skin under the eyes and neck, and dyspigmentation. It’s also effective on the décolleté (lower neck) area and the hands,” says Dr. Hopping. “Patients are pleasantly surprised at the limited downtime.”

Recovery

The “triple peel” does not require any anesthesia and is tolerated by all patients. Some red skin irritation or inflammation for one day is similar to other skin resurfacing treatments. Skin flaking begins on day 4 and lasts for one week. Patients can return to work or teleconferencing immediately after treatment.

Expected Results

Most patients are pleased to achieve cleaner, smoother, less wrinkled and less blotchy skin. Many return in one or two years for another session of skin rejuvenation.
